The text is bilingual: Latin on the left column, German Gothic on the opposite. The German naturalist and physician Auguste Johann Georg Karl Batsch (1761-1802) was commissioned by the Count of Reuss to put in order a rich zoological and mineralogical museum that he had just acquired in Koestriz. Our copy has annotations in ink in the margins of many pages and on the plates by an English mycologist of the early 19th century. The name of the scribe is found on the general title, top right: "J. Hawkins Chaceley, Worcester]shire". There is also, after the title page of the first part, a folded manuscript table referring to the numbers of the figures engraved by Capieux. Hinges cracked. Restorations, a few pale freckles. Brunet VI, 5362; Pritzel, 475; Nissen, 92; MykoLibri, 87.
