"CHATEAUBRIAND. Letter to a Peer of France. Paris, Le Normant père, 1824. In-8, green morocco, border of stylized fleur-de-lis, fans in the corners, royal arms in the center, plain spine decorated with a repeated fleur-de-lis, gilt edges (Bound edition). First edition of this letter dated December 2, 1824, concerning compensation owed to émigrés dispossessed during the Revolution. Bearing the coat of arms of King Louis-Philippe d’Orléans. Antique handwritten bookplate “le Baron de Muller”: Joseph Antoine Charles Müller (1775–1853) was an infantry colonel and baron of the Empire. Spines and corners slightly rubbed.
