In-8, red morocco, wide border of palms and flowers, gilded plate with fanfare, royal coat of arms in center, ornate ribbed spine, interior roulette, gilded edges on marble (Rel. ép.). Frontispiece, title and 5 engravings of part titles. Beautiful fanfare binding with the arms and cipher of Louis XV. Early handwritten ex-dono (the book belonged to the Countesses of Monstuejouls, then Azemuska); early armorial bookplates. Binding rubbed, minor wormholes at foot, a few freckles; one spine protrusion. Another copy of this binding with the fanfare bearing the arms and cipher of Louis XV, rebacked on a Semaine Sainte volume (the first quire is missing). Rubbing."
