CHINA, 20th century. Double gourd-shaped vessel in red-lacquered copper, decorated with medallions depicting scholars in landscapes against a background of foliage. Friezes of stylized foliage and petals provide transitions, with an additional Greek fret frieze in the central section. Height: 23 cm. Pierced at the bottom to thread a cord through.
