Fairly fine early Senneh, Northwest Iran, circa 1940/50 Wool velvet on cotton foundation Frayed endings. Midnight-blue field with Herati motifs of small stylized diamond-shaped floral buds framing a large central brick medallion with geometrically stylized starry flowers framing polychromy. Four sky-blue spandrels with floral bulbs. Main border in ruby with rows of stylized diamond-shaped floral boxes. Fairly good condition
