Edy LEGRAND ( 1892-1970) attributed to - Lot 91
Edy LEGRAND ( 1892-1970) attributed to Moroccan women Paper mounted on canvas 65 x 100 cm Edy Legrand (1892-1970): After studying at the Beaux-Arts in Paris, he discovered Morocco in 1923 and returned regularly, staying in Marrakech and the High Atlas. Fascinated by the vibrant light, he painted scenes of markets and interiors, nomadic encampments, dances and landscapes. Close to Jacques Majorelle, his style blends modernity, fluidity of line and sensuality of color, renewing the Orientalist tradition with a more lively, contemporary vision.
