Japan, Meiji period (1868-1912). Lot comprising two fans, one decorated with flowers, the other with courtiers in a garden and flowers. The shibayama plumes are made of marine ivory. The wooden strands are finely serrated. One is missing a clasp, the second has a small tear. The shibayama decoration is slightly missing.
