It is illustrated with 4 handsome hors-texte plates by Monsiau, engraved in color by Clément, using the new doll process.
Edition of 300 copies.
Bookplate of Baron de Mackau (1893). Enclosed an autograph receipt signed by Vadé (17.5 x 15 cm), acknowledging "having ceded to M. Duchesne, the poem entitled La Pipe cassée, for the sum of four hundred livres, August 30, 1750." Traces of folding, heavy spotting.
Large stain at head, on first half of volume, a few scattered stains. Binding slightly rubbed, one spine split.
