In-folio, green half-maroquin, smooth spine decorated (contemporary binding). 6 pp, (1) f., 167 pp, Famous collection of canaille songs and anecdotes celebrating the halles, opening with "La pipe cassée, poème épi-tragi-poissardi-héroï-comique" by Vadé; then, from L'Écluse, "Le Déjeûner de la Rapée, ou Discours des halles et des ports", "Les lettres de la grenouillère" by Vadé... It is illustrated with 4 handsome hors-texte plates by Monsiau, engraved in color by Clément, using the new doll process. Edition of 300 copies. Bookplate of Baron de Mackau (1893). Enclosed an autograph receipt signed by Vadé (17.5 x 15 cm), acknowledging "having ceded to M. Duchesne, the poem entitled La Pipe cassée, for the sum of four hundred livres, August 30, 1750."
