LAFUGIE (Léa). Portrait of a young Iranian woman. Malamir, Persia, 1932. Watercolor and pencil on buff paper. Title and signature in pencil in the lower right corner. Dated 1932 in blue ink (26 x 33,2 cm), in an old natural wood frame (42,5 x 53 cm). Portrait of a young Iranian woman, from Malamir, the present city of Izeh, with her shimmering finery and tribal tattoos. Léa Lafugie (1890 - 1972) was a graduate of the Arts Déco. She traveled extensively (Burma, India, Tibet, Japan...), before following her husband to Malaysia in 1932. It was during these expeditions that she realized multiple portraits and views. She lived in Asia for 30 years, but exhibited in Paris and around the world. Small angular traces of scotch tape. An angle of the broken glass.
