FERAL (Lieutenant).
FERAL (Lieutenant). Trip to the East and Russia. 1898-1899. (1900). In-4, 78 pp, autographed text in purple ink, printed hardback cover, black cloth spine. Lieutenant Féral, of the 3rd Regiment of Algerian Tirailleurs, tells of the trip he made to Athens, Smyrna, Constantinople and Russia. He describes the manners and customs and gives political and military overviews of the countries he visited. The work is illustrated with plans drawn in the text (Warsaw, Petersburg, Kiev, a map of the Cossack territories of Europe...), and 5 plates of original photographs grouping 37 small captioned images (cm. 6,3 x 4,3). Some ms corrections. Printing and prints faded. Small stains and foxing. Traces of nails on the last leaves. Volume slightly disbound, cover rubbed and soiled.
