PAIR OF silver FLAMBEAUX. PARIS, Guillaume LEDOUX (received master in 1705), 1736-1737 (letter-date V). Base with contours bordered by a frieze of ovals, girdled on the foot of strong nets with flowered clasps, motif taken up at the base of the stem and at the base of the binet. The umbilicus is decorated with interlacing on an amatized background. The stem is decorated with falls of fleurons and decorated, in the upper part, with double-shells in fall. Coat of arms engraved on the foot in two oval shields stamped with a crown of marquis, with scrolls, shell in point: dexter, silver three bezants 2, 1 [...], sinister, Gules an escallop or, chief silver (Arthur de la Villarmois). Height (torches) 24 cm; weight (torches) 1466 g. Comparable model from 1735 in the David-Weill collection.
