Mahogany veneer display case opening through a door showing - Lot 231
Mahogany veneer display case opening through a door showing a diorama (reconstituted medium with natural (branches) and artificial plant decoration) containing 77 naturalized ancient avian (birds) specimens (naturalized before 1940), most of which are present mainly on the European and American continents (precise list on request) The naturalization of these specimens pre-dates 1940. Some specimens show discoloration due to age and direct light exposure. It is necessary to underline the uncommon and rare aspect of certain species present in this diorama and in regression in their natural environment. Some of these taxa (specimens) are subject to international regulations (Washington Convention) in Appendix II and to EC Regulation 338/97 of 09/12/1996 in Appendices A and B. Therefore, for an exit from the EU, a CITES re-export will be necessary, this being at the expense of the future buyer. Some species are listed in the French Environment Code (CE) or not regulated (NR). Concerning the two specimens listed in Appendices II/A, in accordance with the law, and more precisely with EC Regulation 338/97 of 09/12/1996, an expert's certificate will be given to the future buyer allowing the commercial use of these specimens in the EU.
