GENTIL (Emile). The fall of the Empire of Rabah. Paris, Hachette, (1902). In-8, red half-basane with corners, slightly rubbed spine, gilt head (Binding). Illustrated with a folding map and 126 engravings. Emile Gentil was in charge of discovering, between 1895 and 1897, the most practicable route between Gabon and Chad; in 1899, he left for a second mission to defeat Rabah at the cost of violent fights during which Commander Lamy was killed.
