Three insika wickerwork screens, Tutsi, Rwanda - Burundi Beautifully detailed work with geometric motifs in natural and pink tones. 146 cm, 157 cm and 144 cm (the latter is reproduced in Tissus nègres, librairie des arts décoratifs, 1931, pl. 45). Inventory no. 2047 (3), described by Charles Ratton as : Lot de vanneries de l'Irundi, Congo belge, achetées le 27 janvier 1938 à Dangotte. Madame C. Dangotte prefaced the book Les arts congolais, vannerie et tissage by Monsieur Coart, chef de section au musée du Congo belge, 1926. Slightly missing. Provenance: Charles RATTON
