Glé fetish head in modeled clay, Côte d'Ivoire - Liberia. This specimen is different from the previous one, more stylized. The eyes are oblique, and the mouth, where a tooth and a piece of glass tooth remain, is wide open. A warthog tooth is stuck to the right of the mouth, and a piece of mother-of-pearl forms the right eye. As on the previous lot, the top of the head is adorned with feathers. It was certainly used for the same purpose. H = 14 cm Provenance: Charles RATTON
