LAFUGIE (Léa). Three young Iranian women in traditional costumes. Iran, Mohammerah, 1932. Watercolor and pencil on cream paper. Signed and located lower left ( 23 x 29,3 cm), in an old gilded wood frame. Date and country added in blue pen. Léa Lafugie (1890 - 1972) was a graduate of Arts Déco. She traveled extensively (Burma, India, Tibet, Japan...), before following her husband to Malaysia in 1932. It was during these expeditions that she realized multiple portraits and views. She lived in Asia for 30 years, but exhibited in Paris and all over the world.
