SOUPIERE in silver. PARIS, Jacques-Grégoire ROUSSEAU, 1803-1809. Circular, it rests on a pedestal bordered by a frieze of water leaves, a motif repeated on the edge of the lid with a projection topped by a stylized acorn-shaped grip on a terrace of lanceolate leaves strewn with ears of corn. The handles are decorated with appliques of oak branches with foliage and acorns. The body is engraved with a coat of arms stamped with a marquis crown in a shield supported by two lions hoisting: Quarterly to the 1 and 4 of azure to the golden lion armed and lampassed of gules with the cotice of the same broaching on the whole (Cassagnes); to the 2 and 3 of gules to the ermine lion armed, lampassed and crowned of gold (Chabannes). Motto : QUOD LEO TENET BENE TENET (Cassagnes de Beaufort de Miramon - Rouergue). Small shocks (inside edge of the lid, terrace, inside of the body at the bottom). Height 33 cm ; Weight 2271 g.
