Antinous as Dionysus. Antique bust depicting him slightly in profile, with a pensive gaze, wearing vine tassels. Antinous was a young man from Bithynia who lived in the IIᵉ century AD, known as a favorite and lover of the Roman emperor Hadrian. He died at the age of about 20, drowned in the Nile, in circumstances that remain mysterious. 19th century. Composite stone. Height 80 cm -Width 40 cm -Base 24 cm
