Charles Ratton, 14 rue de Marignan Paris

The works presented come from the gallery opened by Charles Ratton at 14, rue de Marignan, Paris, in the late 1920s.

Wherever possible, information found in the gallery's archives is specified, as well as its publication in the catalog of the Charles Ratton, l'invention des arts " primitifs " exhibition at the Musée du Quai Branly in 2013 when this is the case.

Some pieces may have no stock number, but are included in the gallery's photographic archives, many of which are on glass plates.

It is thanks to Sandrine Ladrière, who has had the patience to carry out in-depth research into the gallery's inventories and documents, that the history of many of these works has been traced.
